The State Capitol and Visitors Center
Spread in 22-acres, the monuments and exhibits at The State Capitol make it one of Austin’s top attractions. Largest among all the state capitols in the United States, this state capitol and the visitors center has many things to see such as the lovely rotunda, the Heroes of the Alamo and a monument to Vietnam War veterans.
Mexic-Arte Museum
This remarkable museum is known for its impressive exhibits of contemporary Mexican, Latino and Latin American art and culture. It boasts a permanent collection of over 17,000 pieces of American, European and Latin American art, as well as unique temporary exhibits that include photography, painting, and sculptures.
Zilker Metropolitan Park and Botanical Garden
This marvelous tourist attraction has plants and themed gardens spread over 30 acres of area. A Japanese Garden, waterfalls and ponds are among the other attractions that draw a huge number of expats and locals. Visitors can also check out the excellent Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum and Zilker Hillside Theater, which is known to host Zilker Summer Musical every year.
